Secure Storage
|
|
The CellBank Australia Secure Storage Service is a way for organisations to outsource the costs associated with the short or long term storage of frozen cell lines or similar material. Material deposited with CellBank Australia is securely stored in the vapour phase of liquid nitrogen until the return of the material is requested. It is ideal as a secondary storage mechanism ("backup") for important biological samples.
|
Our approach
CellBank Australia offers storage of frozen vials under the same conditions applied to CellBank's own vials. Features of our storage service include:
-
Storage in the vapour phase of liquid nitrogen with storage temperatures consistently below -150 degrees Celsius
-
Storage of duplicate vials across multiple storage tanks
-
24 hour, 7 day a week, monitoring of storage temperature through building-wide alarm systems with remote alerts
-
Generator based backup power systems in the event of power failure
-
Customized, in-house, barcode-driven database for tracking of vials with unique ID numbers
