Description

Description: An undifferentiated carcinoma cell line established from a forehead metastasis of a malignant teratoma. This is not an embryonal carcinoma cell line. This cell line is tumourigenic in nude mice.

Growth Properties: Adherent

Morphology: Teratoma

Growth Medium: DMEM (High Glucose) + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 10% CO2; 37°C.
