Description
Description: Established from a NEDH rat transplantable islet cell tumour. The cells secrete insulin and glucagon.

Growth Medium: DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 5-10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:3 i.e. seeding at 3-5×10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. The cells tend to grow in clumps and ribbons. They do not strictly attach but stick lightly and will not form a complete monolayer.
