Description

Description: Used in RSV transformation studies. Demonstrates rapid thymidine kinase (TK) activity following induction of simian, adeno and papovavirus infections. Derived from a male adult African Green monkey kidney. Cells grow rapidly and form monolayers of fibroblast-like cells that support the growth of SV40. Chromosome number shifts have been observed at high passage levels.

Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:3 to 1:6 i.e. seeding at 2-4×10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO2; 37°C.

Release Conditions: Yes – CITES (Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) licence required for all orders outside the European Union
