Description
Description: A diploid cell line derived from normal male Rhesus monkey foetus. Susceptible to poliovirus types 1-3, Coxsackie A9, parainfluenza 3, rubella and is non-tumourigenic in animals.

Growth Medium: EMEM (EBSS) + 2mM Glutamine + 1% Non Essential Amino Acids (NEAA) + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:3 i.e. seeding at 3-5×10, 000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO2; 37°C. Finite lifespan. Cell line has been shown to undergo 51 passages or 74 population doublings.
Release Conditions: Yes – CITES (Convention on the International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) licence required for all orders outside the European Union
