Description
Description: DMS 273 was initiated in 1978 from the pleural fluid specimen from a 50 year old female patient with small cell carcinoma of the lung. The patient was in relapse after chemotherapy and radiotherapy. DMS 273 cells exhibit intercellular processes and express retinoblastoma mRNA and protein. The cell line is tumorigenic in nude mice.

Growth Medium: Waymouth’s MB 752/1 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) (Heat Inactivated).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:4 i.e. seeding at 4×10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C.
