Description
Description: Derived from kidneys taken from New Zealand white rabbits. The cells are susceptible to a range of viruses including rubella, vaccinia and herpes. Rubella replicates to a high titre.

Growth Medium: Medium 199 + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 5×10,000 to 3×100, 000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin; 5% CO2; 37°C. NB: this line is extremely sensitive to trypsin.
