Description
Description: The WT1-expressing mesonephric cell line M15 (alias Meso15) was established from mouse mesonephros transgenically expressing the large T protein of polyoma virus under the control of the early viral enhancer. As a tumour suppresser gene with a key role in urogenital development, WT1 is implicated as predisposition gene in the pathogenesis of Wilms’ tumour (WT).

Growth Medium: DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 10% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS).
Subculturing Procedure: Split sub-confluent cultures (70-80%) 1:5 to 1:10 i.e. seeding at 5×1,000 to 1×10,000 cells/cm² using 0.25% trypsin or trypsin/EDTA; 5% CO2; 37°C. NB: Cell growth is impaired at lower densities.
