Description
Description: Derived from a 50 year old Japanese male with generalised lymphadenopathy and heptosplenomegaly (Adult T-cell Leukaemia) by co-culture of his peripheral leukocytes with male umbilical cord lymphocytes. The cells carry HTLV-1 and support the growth of HIV. The cells should be handled under laboratory containment level 3 conditions. STR profiling at ECACC confirms the presence of a Y chromosome

Subculturing Procedure: Seed cultures between 2-3×100,000 cells/ml. Saturation density 9 x 100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C.
