Description: Derived from the fasciculata-reticularis zone of the adrenal cortex taken from three normal adult cows. FGF stimulates cell division. Cells are responsive to ACTH and other steroidogenic agents. Finite lifespan; 60-70 population doublings expected. Studies have indicated that this cell line produces both detectable BVDV antigens and infectious BVDV.
