Description

Description: Human retinoblastoma cell line derived from a female Caucasian. The cells are semi-adherent, some neuronal differentiation can occur when subculturing. Tumourigenic in rabbits.

Growth Medium: Iscove's Modified DMEM + 2mM Glutamine + 15% Foetal Bovine Serum (FBS) + 10ug/ml Insulin + 55uM 2-Mercaptoethanol

Subculturing Procedure: Split subconfluent cultures (70-80%) 1:2 to 1:4 i.e. seeding at 2-3 x100,000 cells/ml; 5% CO2; 37°C. Saturation density: 2 x 1000,000 cells/ml. Cells are semi-adherent. Scrape cells from surface; do not use trypsin.
